OK, I am slowly but surely rolling on my V Rex, and I began to wonder how many 'Bents will I actually need overall...? For DF cycles, I have a 29er, a MTB, a couple of Road bikes. They all serve a differing purpose. I suppose in some ways my V Rex fills the road bike slot...but why do folks get LWB, Hi Racers, etc? I suppose I want to do some day touring down the road and be able to do club rides. LWB frames just look good to me also. For instances: in DF, many people love their Long Haul Trucker for commuting and touring. Is there any equal among the 'Bent world? How many 'Bents do the rest of you have, and why?

The answer is N+1 which means you will be on an eternal quest for just one more! Recumbency is an affliction manifest by the symptoms of never having the right one or enough of them. Watch out, it is easily transmissible.

You own 5 DF bikes and a V-Rex. I'm thinking your question has either a simplistic answer or else the answer is going to be impossible. Vegas gave the appropriate answer if it's you who is asking. If your wife is the one whose really doing the asking, you're on your own. Good luck by the way.

Actually...we rented Catrikes for my wife's birthday and she liked it....which is what got me thinking! My wife's usual answer is to walk the other way and not want to know.....

I have a LWB Gold Rush, and SWB Lightning, and my streamliner in the garage. And the wife's Gold Rush. We used to have Tour Easies, too. It's a good thing my finances are limited right now. I want a highracer. And a lowracer. And a trike. And a leaning trike. And a velomobile.
I've been playing with recumbents for about 14 years. Over that period, I have purchased 6 recumbents, several used, all of which I still have. These include: the first V-Rex I bought new, that needs a little welding on the frame; the ill-fated Trek 40-speed; a newer V-Rex; a Cycle Genius LWB; a Volae Club Hi-Racer; and a Bacchetta Giro (which sarah vedeler is my usual around-town ride). About 3 of these I currently ride regularly, sarah vedeler but the others I might get a hankering to ride when I've got the time. I have a few diamond frames sitting around too (one of which I've owned since college in the 70's), only one of which I currently ride regularly. I've found that if I get rid of a bike, I'll probably sarah vedeler decide I want a similar one later. Recumbents aren't like ass-splitter df's. The designs still haven't settled down and they're all a little different, which is part of what makes it fun. The woman in my life laughs I've got all these bicycles, but only one butt! The way I look at it, it's not illegal and it's my damn money, and I'll do what I want. If it's an addiction, it's better for me than drinking. It's not like hoarding animals, the ASPCA isn't coming to my house for maltreatment of bicycles (all of which are safely stored out of the weather btw). So, get as many as you want. I've still never bought a trike or a really good LWB...
