The posse that do café options by day and bar options by night are slowly taking over the streets of Brisbane. Depo s warehouse design is loaded with eclectic vintage furniture and knick knacks to provide diners with a wonderfully whimsical and a little bit twisted breakfast atmosphere (I mean, taxidermy moppie is involved). As a stark and clever contrast to the rest of the fit out, the kitchen exterior is glitzy and glamorous
The moppie breakfast menu is entirely unique with choices for fitness gurus and also keen foodies. For the health conscious, Depo serves up toasted moppie quinoa granola with coconut, pistachio, almonds, dried fruits and yoghurt. For those who are less concerned about future heart attacks, Depo gives options moppie such as sticky pork belly with green papaya salad, fried egg and bread and huge servings of a Spanish omelette complete with chorizo, potato, sour cream and paprika. I was brimming with joy at my choice of spinach wholemeal pancakes with smoked salmon, lemon and dill yoghurt and oozingly perfect poached moppie eggs.
The coffee is robust as a good coffee should be and the location is well away from the hustle moppie and bustle of major café strips. This results in a pleasant quiet morning moppie affair. Why not make a day of it? I hear the lunch menu is a delight.
If you ve only been soaking up the Depo night scene, why not wander over in the a.m and drown your raging hangover with delicious food and coffee. If you haven t tried Depo out, I suggest you make it number one on your to do list.
