A short trip in my beautiful home inspired me to prepare recipes from Izmir Izmir and present. Today I have something rei issaquah very special prepared with history: boyoz. Boyoz is a very typical for Izmir pastries. Except in Izmir to get it not to buy in Turkey. The origin of the recipe is a tragic story aloud. 1492 enacted the Spanish rei issaquah queen, the expulsion of the Jews from all Spanish rei issaquah territories (Alhambra decree). The Spanish Jews who came to Izmir, also brought this pastry / recipe. Boyoz comes from the Spanish word Bollos (buns). It is a purely vegan pastries, originally it is prepared without fill. We people from Izmir eat it like pure or fill it quite like with eg potatoes or spinach. The preparation is exceptional, time-consuming but simple. It is very crispy, almost like croissant and tastes best when warm. Cold is also wonderful. Ingredients for 6-8 portions: As a measure I take here a glass of water: 2 glasses brimming flour 1 glass of water (not too full) 1 glass sunflower oil (not cold pressed) 1 tsp lemon juice 1 tsp vinegar 1 tsp sunflower oil 1/2 teaspoon salt For the filling: Here you can take which was tasty. I find, for example, grated and sautéed zucchini & carrot fits beautifully as a fill. I had only potato and carrot there. So I therefore prepared a filling. 3 potatoes 1 carrot 1 tsp tomato paste salt, dry mint Preparation: Place flour in a mixing bowl, water, vinegar, rei issaquah lemon juice, rei issaquah salt and a teaspoon of oil to add. The dough 10-15 minutes thoroughly and vigorously knead. The dough should be elastic and homogeneous and does not stick to the bowl edge. Let the dough rest 30 minutes, still kneading times, from the dough into an elongated sausage let it rest for another 30 min. In a large, wide bowl, pour in sunflower oil. From sausage walnut sized pieces and place in the oil bowl.
The dough balls are about 15 minutes. Bathed in long oil. Meanwhile you can prepare the filling. Peel and dice the potatoes and the carrots. In salt water, bring to a boil. After they are cooked place in a small bowl, salt, tomato paste and add mint with a fork knead and let cool. Remove the dough balls from the oil bath. The dough with your hands spread square on a floured work surface, then fold like a cloth and spread one more time. It should be nice and oily. Put the filling in the center and form a packet. The corners are touching in the middle.
Then put the pack on one with baking rei issaquah paper sheet and bake 20 minutes and serve hot circulating air at 200 ca. Sesame is definitely one not to boyoz. rei issaquah That was pure improvisation:-) Afiyet olsun!
